Our guest speaker this month, Robert Mathias, professional portrait photographer, along with his side-kick, Eddie Villaflor, Photoshop guru, will present a program on capturing portraits as well as some landscapes. Robert has been shooting professionally for over forty years. He originally hails from Chicago where he studied photography at Columbia College followed by the Winona School for Professional Photographers in Winona, IN. It was in Indiana that he opened his first professional studio in 1967.
Serving the San Antonio community for twenty years, he specialized in Fine Portraiture of ‘Mother and Child’. After a successful career there, he moved his studio to Spring, TX in 2000, and now works only on locations. His images of ‘Mother and Child’ evoked such emotion and were admired by several professional magazines, they were published in Lens Magazine. Robert has taught photography to many ‘shooters’ who are now top-notch photographers. We are honored to have Robert and Eddie to address our Club this month.
